Community Awareness Day
Date:Thursday, October 9, 2008
Time: 9am - 2pm
Location: Linn Park and Short 20th Street North
Have you ever been inside a Tornado Safe Room? Do you have a 72-hour disaster Kit? Do you have a family severe weather plan? Does it include your pets? Do you know how to build your new home to be more wind resistant? Project Impact Community Awareness Day will provide an increased awareness of numerous methods available to better prepare for severe weather, and learn about family and home safety.
The Jefferson County Emergency Management Agency is partnering with local sponsors, exhibitors and volunteers from across the community to increase awareness of the newest disaster preparedness techniques.
Our community can save lives, reduce property damage and accelerate economic recovery by taking action BEFORE the emergency takes place.
